Introduction

I founded Hackers & Founders 4 years ago as a way to connect with startup geeks. Since then, it's grown into the largest community of early startups in Silicon Valley. I want to hack Silicon Valley to make it suck less for new founders.

What is the project/startup you're working on now? Tell us a little bit about it.

Hackers & Founders is my startup. The question I'm trying to answer with Hackers & Founders is how to help hundreds of garage stage startups grow into successful companies, and how to help founders become serial entrepreneurs.

If you have a company URL, please post it here. We'd love to be able to check it out.

What technologies excite you?

SSD's. Hardware peripherals for phones. New UI/UX that will happen because of the Kinect. Robotics. Functional Programming. Python. Semantic technologies like Open Calais. I really need a CRM/email client combo. Someone please make this.

  • Jonathan, thanks SO MUCH for your work setting up the SOPA / PIPA meetup today at Civic Center. I was there. I have been on the internet since before there WAS an internet... back when we transferred files and message via UUCP and had BBS systems. I worried that someday the politicians would get involved and try through their ineptitude to screw it up, and now it appears to finally be happening for real.

It was great to meet you today and have the opportunity to chat. I very much enjoyed the Wednesdays format. Be in touch.

    Cheers,

  • Thanks for organizing this event! I've been looking for something like this for a long time (glad I stumbled accross it!). I'm 3rd on the waiting list, but will mostly likely attempt to crash the party if that's not too frowned upon! :) I'm sure a few of the 150 registered won't show. Let me know if that's a good idea or not!

  • Jonathan, your Newsley.com site looks pretty cool, useful and interesting. Will definitely check it out more. Good luck!
